About us

Association “Danube Winemakers”, UIC: 207780868, is a civil, non-political organization operating for public benefit with the following objectives:

Objectives

  • To assist in the establishment, development, and promotion of high-quality wines in the Danube Plain;
  • To promote wine tourism in the Danube Plain;
  • To preserve, promote, and develop the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Danube Plain and the local grape varieties;
  • To work towards creating conditions for achieving high performance by winemakers from the Danube Plain at local, regional, national, and international levels;
  • To participate in regional, national, and international wine events;
  • To support viticulture and winemaking by encouraging and exchanging good agricultural practices and sustainable wine production;
  • To assist and consult with the relevant authorities in the field of viticulture and winemaking, as well as cultural and wine tourism;
  • To encourage best practices in the field of winemaking and wine tourism, and to conduct comparative analyses of the development of these sectors in other countries and in our home country;
  • To work on raising public awareness regarding the viticulture and winemaking sector, particularly in the Danube Plain region, the society’s wine culture, and the prestige of people working in the wine sector; to assist in improving the institutional and regulatory framework concerning the activities of the wine producers and wine tourism;
  • To establish and maintain contacts with similar organizations in the country and abroad;
  • To support and assist the development of science and education in the field of viticulture, winemaking, and wine tourism.
